Robert Sullivan has served as band director for a number of Texas educational facilities, including Grand Prairie High School in Grand Prairie, TX, and the Austin Independent School District. Outside of his teaching role as a band director, Robert Sullivan supports various nonprofit organizations, including the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).

The HRC recently announced a partnership with the Alianza por la Diversidad e Inclusión Laboral (ADIL) and FVConsulting on a new venture dubbed the Equidad MX: Global Workplace Equality Program.

This initiative is aimed at fostering a more inclusive environment for individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) in Mexico. A truly grassroots effort, the program is launched during a time when LGBTQ rights organizations have made significant advances in Mexican culture. The hope is that the Equidad MX: Global Workplace Equality Program will provide a greater awareness concerning the issues facing LGBTQ individuals in the workplace through consulting and education resources.

The program will also make use of existing HRC resources to encourage Mexican companies to fashion their in-house policies to more accurately reflect international standards relating to LGBTQ inclusion.
